Question about effects of silencer ring removal?

Popping Clutch Pedal

ok. I think this vibration I felt is my stock clutch acting up. :(

Well the only mod is the edge juice and attitude. I was told it was going to happen, and it did :) It's not to bad, the monitor shows like 1 or 2% slippage in stock mode, and I can get it to spike around 10 in level 5 on the e-way. The enguage point it a bit higher on the peddle aswell. And I did sence a nice slippage and the smell of clutch lastnight while playing around. I figure if I play nice, I do have a few 1000 miles to drive on stock, play nice mode.

I'm going to be buying the 1947 FE South bend clutch. I figured 550hp and 1100# of torque management should be cool.

Future plans are to get a FASS pusher pump (150gph?)

Upgrade to the HotJuice program (505hp 1000+# torque).

And some bigger tires to still fit under the stock suspention (B/F TA's).

As well as an inner cooler and intake upgrades to smooth some air flow (banks cooler?.

In this order, and this will be called good. Well good for external stuff. I have plans for the audio system too :)

I suppose being able to hit 3200rpm in 6th just as your cross the 1/4 mark is sufficient, and I suspect with this setup this will make it possible.

Any logical objections? I don't wanna do extream modes here. I just need to make sure the clutch, hot juice, and fuel pump will hold and nothing else will break becuase of these mods. And if thigns expect to break, what are they so I can be ready.

It will be $1100 after shipping + machine costs on the flywheel + machanic time if I can't find anyone in the Minnestota St Paul, Minneapolis area that would help me out. :)

The dual disk deal will be $2000+ right?

Free Beer and food if I can barrow someone and their tools for a day or two :)

Basicly, I moved here from Michigan a year ago with a stock truck and my toy jeep left, winterized in my dad's barn. So I have no real need for tools for this kinda job.

I figure, if I can get the flywheel resurfaced on a saturday, this can be a friday night -> saturday job easly. Clutch can't be that hard on this truck can it? Assuming the bolts on top of the transmission aren't a ***** to get at

unless you are going for absolutey goofy HP (twins, injectors, big DD clutch, etc)

I would run only the 95gph, at least thats what brad at DPP(fass) told me

I run the 150gph without issue.

Just what I said... your absolutely goofy! - well HP-wise that is :-laf

"04. 5 Black SPORT Cummins SBCDD 3850 12CB. TSTCR Twins Program/ TS Performance Ramifier. AFE. ATS 2pc. 5"Ex. DPP FASS. TAD B104. Cam by SCHEID Diesel. BDDL"

whats that thing up to anyway? (hp-wise)

With the BullyDog probably cracking 500hp.

Once I get a little turbo upgrade (coming soon) and some injectors (coming soon) I ought to see about another 50hp give or take.

I bet with a set of DON M's injectors, I bet you'll crack 575 after a bigger turbo... nice thing is you haev the DD clutch already, LUCKY!!!!!!

Don's taking too long on the injectors for the 04. 5.

Industrial injection has them and is putting the power to the ground!

Give Torque Diesel in Elk River a try. One of the guys who works there is a member here. Can't remember his name off hand. I'm not too far away, but I ain't setup for pulling clutches here either.

FASS issues: guys make sure to run some extra ground wires off the FASS negative wire.

I now have one that goes to the battery negative and one to the frame.

No problems since then.

... ... a FASS pusher pump (150gph?)

That is a long list of goodies. The only thing I can add is that my fuel pressure at the CP3 during a 1/4 mile run holds steady at 13. 2 lbs. This is with a 95gph FASS with a 15 lb spring, a 3-micron filter, sucking through a Racor Nomad fuel heater. That’s pretty good. Also, I have had both the 150 and the 95. The 150 had pretty severe cavitation due to the stock fuel pick-up tube inside the tank being too small. I don't know if the pick-up tubes are the same size on all 03/04/05 trucks or not. Also, the 95 runs much quieter by a long shot.

I'm sure it has an application, but I'm not sure you would need the 150 even if you were pushing 600+hp. Even above 600hp I don’t think you could pull pressure down to zero if it was operating correctly with a good filter on it. If you had to drive the truck daily and listen to the pump whining back there while sitting in traffic, you would probably be happier with the 95gph. My $0. 02.

JasonCzerak,

Where are you located? We have numerous machine shops that might get you in.

One is right over in White Bear Lake.
