upgrades on 04 today

Just finished putting on a B-1 charger on after only 400 miles on truck. Also put full 4 in. exh. with 5 in. tip. leaving now for a test drive

Just a suggestion: you might want to get a couple thousand break-in miles on your truck before going crazy with power, and you'll probably want to change out the factory oil before that too. . .

well, i had the B-1 on for about a day, i pulled it off last night. these trucks put out no fuel hardly whatsoever. it just couldn't light the charger worth a darn. it started to in 6th gear at about 75mph. i will have to wait until i get some fueling upgrades, i think i will buy a pressure box soon. thanks for the tips on the waiting period. at this rate it will be a few more days for the miles, bought it last thurs. and have over 800 on it already

I have the DD turbo and it spools great, even with stock power.

Yes a B1 is a little big for stock fueling. It's kinda like putting the cart before the horse. Start off with a box and then when you have EGT problems then move up to a bigger turbo. Quite a few guys have done fine with the stock turbo running a fueling box with no other upgrades except for maybe a AFE filter & 4" exhaust.



Yeah looks like you're getting 'er broke in quick, doesn't take long to rack up those miles when you're having fun with the new ride



So what 4" exhaust do you have? What does it sound like with the B1 on there? Another thought, you might talk with Wildcat Diesel (or whoever you got it from) and trade down to one with a smaller housing.

With just the EZ on our 03 we havent run into EGT problems on the stock turbo. Just an on throttle surge at the higher rpms. I just towed 12k with it on the weekend. We did a couple of 5-10 mile pulls up 6-8% grades. The hottest I had it was 1060 pre turbo. It was pretty impressive. We didnt really drop below 50mph on any of the hills either. At 70mph on the flat it was pulling 19psi of boost.

Was that the coquihalla? I pulled trough to Kelowna on the weekend and was very impressed by the trucks towing performance, but I dont have guages :

We hit the Coq coming home. We were in Cranbrook. We came back through Radium. There was some pretty big hills. Plus our brake with the towloc worked awesome. Coming down snowshed hill at over 18k combined the brake held at 40mph the whole way. That is an 8% grade for a couple of miles. I only touched the brakes twice.

i kind of figured i would need more fuel but its hard to have the truck there and a B-1 setting so closely and not put it on do they have any fueling boxes out yet or just all pressure boxes? the four in. exhaust is just from were the muffler was to the back with a 5 in. tip it sounded better with the B-1, now all i can hear is the waste gate after a little boost is built. i need to do something about that little prob. took the silencer ring out, charger sounds pretty good. just need to get some fuel to it now
