Upgrades to the 48RE vs 47RE

Ok I know this subject has been beat to death, someone just please send me a link so that I can read it myself. I just read the latest 4wheeler and was reading about the project Baja bomber in which the 47-re was upgraded. Wow did that transmission have some weak points from the factory! What exactly was done by DC to improve the 48re? Is it all new (doubt it) or just an upgraded 47? Thanks.

Its the same basic trans with many design changes. All D. C. rwd autos are basic same design. Have been for decades. The failure rate on the 48re has been very very low.
