Where to buy PW and PDL kits?

I just purchased a '93 W250, I would like to put in a black faced tach to match and a 4" exhaust, unless 4" is to much for these trucks? Who sells 4" or 3" for these trucks? Does anyone make a single or dual steering wheel gauge pod mount for these, I have a dual in my '03. What about a full pillar mount? What size injectors can you go to and still pull a trailer with? Any help apreciated thanks

Personally I think the change to 4 inch is worth it. Most on this board said not to bother, but I saw some pretty good gains by going 4 inch (kept the 3 inch downpipe).

Even with me keeping the muffler in the system (too many muffler nazis in Ct), I gained 3 psi boost, got quicker spoolup and faster turbo cooldown time.

You can get a 4 inch system from Rip Rook, make your own from parts, etc. I got mine from Janetty (his place is close to me so it was convenmient).

Good luck.

4 inch on first gen

when i finished my crewcab swap i went with 4 inch pipe from down pipe then 5 in over axle to tip no muffler sounds good and runs sweet I didnt use any system i just went to local muffler shop n said fix me up 150 later i was drivin down road . :D

so jannetty sells a 4" for a W250 not a D250 its a std. cab long bed, and it fits ok no fabricating? What about a tach when it doesn't have one, I would like a single or dual steering wheel pod mount, cause it doesn't have a tach and needs one. Also does anyone make a nice pillar mount, thats where I will put pyro, boost, maybe fuel, has anyone put a FASS system on these trucks and can you? And what about a black face tach, who makes one I have all Autometer in my 03 and prefer them but would consider others. Thanks for help.

The single pod steering column is readily available. They are the same for the second gen rigs. Like 1991 up through ???1999??? Although nobody wants anyone to know this for some reason.

The autometer A-Pillar mount is sweet. I think they are one/two/three pods available.

ISSPRO has black faced gauges but then doesn't autometer? (I have ISSPRO black). ISSPRO tachs are common for out trucks. The truck is alredy wired for it. This is assuming that you have a 1991 or newer.

The "not so common" upgrade with the VE pump is to supply more fuel pressure TO the pump. Not too many folks doing this. However, we have had good luck upgrading to the piston (lift) pump. If you feel you need to that is.

Many folks are using the hogged out tip called the (first gen) POD nozzels. But you'll need air to cool that thing if you give her the go juice pulling (heavy) trailers up long hills.

Yes it fit reasonably well. Came with a straight pipe that could have been used in lieu of the muffler.

Janetty didn't list a system for the first gen, so I sent him an e-mail and asked if he could put something together. They were all shipped to him, put I don't know where he got them from... that's how those guys stay in business.

He hadd all the clamps too... made one mistake on the clamp size and made good on it later.

It was around the same price as Rip's...

Personally I don't care for the A pillar mounted gages... to me they are in the wrong place. . plus the old eyes like things farther away... if you know what I mean.

I have a column pod on mine (but no gauge in it yet, it will be trans temp). It is for a 94 and up but it fit perfectly. I think the Autometer Z-series gauges match the oem ones very nicely

4" exhaust

I got my 4" from Stans Headers. Goes to 4" almost right from turbo, system fit around transfer case nice, fairly easy install. Thanks Steve B.

Autometer has a 2967 Tach which is 2 -1/16th in size has anyone used this tach, says for 4,6, 8 cyl, I like it because I bet it would fit nicely in the steering wheel gauge mount.

If it's not for a diesel it probably won't work, the isspro works great with the output from the PCM which is already wired to a connector under the dash in your 93'. Many of us have been told that the signal is the same as a 4 cylinder gas vehicle but there isn't enough voltage out of the PCM to trigger most of the gas tach's.

Good Luck,

Caleb

I have a 93 250. Check out the products from BANKS. Nothing but quality. I installed their 3" exaust and turbo housing kit and am very happy even after 7 years. Im getting 21 HWY at 1900 rpm and plunty of power. I have a 3 gage pod that sits on top of dash. Got it from ISPRO. I hope this info helps. KEN

Thanks for all the input guys, shew too many decisions on which way to go, right now I'm concentrating on my '03 having a few problems out of it right now, but I wrote down quite a few suggestions and will do something to the 93 later, thanks alot, I'll be a regular in here in the 1st Gens forum
