Was wondering what your experience was when you moved up to 35in tires. Did your mpg to up or down? Acceleration still good or really slowed down?

I currently run 31in winter tires and at 60mph I turn about 1700rpm and at 70mph I think it is about 2000rpm.

Thanks.

I did 35's on the 2005. Lost 1-2 mpg and noticeable loss of acceleration.

Just put 315's (34. 4") on the new truck and ditto on the above.

I lost 2-3 mpg when I lifted and upgraded to 35's. A little on power, but what gears do you have? If you have tall gears you may get better mpg.

HD-J78,

I ran my stock tires untim bald. Then put on 316's, (Nitto Dune Grapplers) and again ran them until needed to be changed. I now have 35" Dick Cepek Fun Country 11's and love them. Noisier than stock/Dune Grapplers, but not too loud.

With both the 315's and the FC 11"s there did seem to be a slight decrease in power when starting out, but not noticeable otherwise. No real differences in mileage. . but I do watch my inflation pressures pretty closely.

You will need to lift the front end if the 35's you choose have any significant width... they will rub. I went with KORE 2" inch levelling kit, (with heavier snow plow rated springs)/extended sway bar links and longer Bilstein shocks and love the ride.

I have had 35's on mine since I bought it as well. I run BFG KM2 mud terrain. I love the tires and wont get rid of them for anything but I only get 12. 5mpg on th highway empty and it stops like the rotors have oil on them. I really wish someone made a descent brake upgrade for our trucks instead of fancy pads and rotors

Best tank I ever had was 21 mpg all highway, stock height and 265/75/16's. Added the Kore suspension and 315/70/17 BFG AT's, best tank of 19 mpg. Wore those tires out and went with 35" Toyo MT's, best tank 17. I just bought another set of BFG's last week and won't be purchasing any mud tires again any time soon. Hopefully the mileage will come back up a bit but I haven't burned a full tank yet to know.

Stop light acceleration with 3. 55 gears and 35" tires isn't great but it's tolerable, someday I'll put in 4. 10's (and probably take another hit on mileage).
