My 06 upholstery gets nasty without really trying... . upholstery cleaner leaves spots as does water, upholstery shop wants $1100 to redo front seat... suggestions? Thanks

I had my cloth seats redone(front & rear) in leather last year in S. F. Bay Area for $1500.

I had the same problem as you. Within 6 mo. my drivers seat looked like a POS.

If you don't mind leather, IMO it's the way to go.

I like mine.

I lost all hope when the truck was 2 months old and had stains everywhere on the seats. Just water will look like a pee stain ): . I will soon be ordering the seat covers genos garage has.

They worked great for my last truck and wash up easy in the washing machine.

I have the same problem as does my wife in her 06 Liberty. There was a TSB for the Liberty as how to clean the seats. Soapy water and a vacuum I think. The problem appears to be a residue left of the material after manufacture. Liquid, even water, bring the residue to the surface and pushes it to the edges as the liquid moves out, and presto, a stain. I clean mine with a foaming upholstery cleaner from Advance Auto. I forget the name. The upholstery can be removed, pressure washed, and re-installed and look good. Although it is a pain. Ask me how I know.

Remove the seat fabric from the seat, takes about 10 minutes a per seat. Its a easy job hand wash the fabric and let air dry. When you remove the fabric you will see why the stain happens. The fabric has a thin foam attached and when it dries you get water rings stains. By washing the entire fabric it will dry evenly with out the water rings. It works! i now have Covercrafts from Geno's.

I bought Geno's Covercraft seat covers about 3 weeks after I bought my truck. I hated the feel of the factory cloth. Felt like I was sitting on Velcro. I have had them now a year and just washed them for the first time. BEST $$$ you will spend!!

Marathon Seat Covers

I too hated the feel of the cloth seats. Felt like I was sitting on elbow skin. I went with Marathon Seat Covers w/pockets fore and aft. I just wish I'd went with camo. Fit is super. American made.
