Howdy, I haven't posted here in a bit, so bare with me...
In the 2004 SLT, the upper console will sometimes display information, and sometimes not. The lights in the console are always OK, and I realize that it's a different wiring path. I haven't been able associate the when or why this happens to any outside or inside temperature or any electrical/mechanical event that will either kill the console display when it's on, or turn it on when it has been off. The main light switch position or dimming have no affect on whether it comes on or goes off. I haven't found any previous posts that would indicate that anyone has seen this. I've checked connectors at the PDC, no issues. I haven't done any work under the dash in many years other than replace burned out lights in the dash cluster, but the issue was occurring before I did that. Actually, I get the same behavior with the lights in the A/C heater dash cover, sometimes they come on and sometimes not.. I'll have to check again to see if they happen to come on and go off at the same time when this issue occurs. I do most of my driving during the day, so it's had to tell if the A/C- Heater dash cover is lit. I really hate
intermittent wiring issues. If you've bumped into this before and solved it, drop me a note. Please don't suggest that I check wiring connectors (again) unless you have a specific connector in mind. Thanks for your time.
