Man, you guys missed out! Upstate Diesel Performance picked up the tab for the Upstate Bombers annual banquet today. Everyone was welcome, and 5 people showed. I thought it was a poor turnout for a Steak Bake. I gotta go roll my fat, stuffed butt off to bed! :-laf
I posted a good poke over at the unsocial site in "that" thread after the meet. I was on last nite, over 30 views, and no comments. What's wrong with those people anyways?
Just waitin for spring Pete, This last 8" snow seems to indicate that global warming has been delayed in Upstate NY. Diesel over $4. 00, ... next year I'll have to burn wood..... need some warm days and salt free roads to run the old antique 1st gens.
Nope, but I hope to this week if the weather stays good. I am on my 7 off but I am working OT tomorrow night and probably Tuesday but other than yard work that's all I have to do. Ineed to do it quick since we got rid of the wifes truck, hualing loads in the Honda ins't good:-laf
I only worked on the truck for a couple hours, I got the rear drive shaft out, the skid plate out from under the transfer case, all of the bolts out of the cross member and the vacuum lines moved out of the way, but that darn cross member doesn't want to come out.
Tim, got a porta power? You need to spread the frame rails a little bit to get it out.
On my gasser I beat the crossmember out with the sledge. Then I couldn't get it back in. I had to use my 2 ton bottle jack and a couple blocks to spread the frame just a little and it fell right in. It was fun trying to hold all that stuff up by myself. #@$%!
I did some searching on here and it seems some guys have had luck with removing the transmission mount and then jacking up the transmission a little and moving the crossmember up and then you can slide it towards the back and then down. I should have a chance to try it next week.
