My U. S. Gear D-Celerator unit has not been working properly... no retarding power at all. We pulled the unit out today and it appeared the 4" butterfly was not closing all the way to fully occlude the exhaust. We adjusted the "throw" on the main butterfly lever until it fully closed and figured we had it whipped. While we had it off we also made sure the wastegate actuator and wastegate itself were working smoothly and they seemed to be. After remounting the unit, it appears we accomplished... nothing.

My feeling is the wastegate is opening too easily but I am not sure how to check or adjust this. The actuator linkage appears to be threaded so may allow some lengthening/shortening to adjust the opening/closing pressure. Just not sure. Anybody with this unit know how to adjust the wastegate?

I have the unit, but.....

don't know about the adjustment. I am making the assumption this is an electrically operated unit.

Are you sure you have a good ground? Crimped connections/bolted to painted frame sections/with corrosion over the years=less than optimum grounding.

You might try calling the factory..... they have always been forthcoming with information in the past.
