Speeding in Work Zones

Mail going cross-county will sometimes arrive faster than mail traveling 500 miles or so. Long distance mail will usually travel by air where short distance mail usually travels my truck.

Remember when you could buy air-mail stamps to ensure air delivery?

Depends on if the horses got watered, feed and the stagecoach bearing are greased up with lard:D.

Seriously it should only take 3-5 days but sometimes up to 10

In my area we have been experiencing a large amount of lost mail ever since 9/11. I talk with a lot of other people that are experiencing the same thing in their areas as well. Just something to consider. Not a month goes by that at least one letter is lost.

I ship the cb mounts by priority mail and its been 2 days everywhere

and its only a fraction more than 1st class and they provide free 12x12x7 boxes

cant beat that deal :D

I sent a letter out about 4 months ago by priority mail with a signature required. It took four weeks from Indiana to MA. They didn't seem too interested in finding it till I told them it had one of their money orders in it. They still did not find it. By this time I had sent another money order by UPS overnight. The person that was supposed to recieve it sent it back when it finaly showed up.

Lost mail and inexplicable delays are becoming routine in our area [ct] as well. We send/receive approx. 400 pieces/week and expect to deal with 2 ''lost " pieces each week!! This was unheard of 5 years ago. Agree with Bob on Priority mail, cost effective and quick, lost 1 piece in July, still MIA  JimG

haha, you all need to tell me good things about the US postal system. I sent a check to Bob V to get a shifter last Thursday and you all are making it seem to me like a month now. :) Oh well i am sure it will get there.

We received a package tuesday that was mailed the prior friday from New Hampshire---we live in a fairly isolated part of the Oregon coast.
