I'd like to see what people think of the idea that your post will be edited should it include the term stealer. Personally, I don't like the idea that Freedom of Speech, granted in the Constitution, is only allowed so long as it doesn't hurt some people's feelings should they work at a dealership.

Does anyone have an opinion on this?

Lots of people have opinions on this. If you do a search on this subject, you should be able to find the threads. I think most of them were in Other.

This poor Dead Horse has been beat several times in all different forums.

They were all moved to the TDR Website/Roundtable forum.

Edit: as well as this one I see..... ;)

Personally myself I can understand where Robin is coming from to a point. While it may be a discriminatory word to some of the reputable national dealerships in the country and those who do at times surf here don't like, it is alot better than what we really want to say honestly and openly. In the past the questionable tactics of those unreputable dealerships who have provided poor or less than 5star service have basically told us what are you going to do about it,nothing, leads us to defend ourselves here in a open forum.

In my case where it has happened and I reported it here it has saved other members from dealing with the dealership in question as they are the only game in town with a certified Cummins mechanic. I also was called on the table so to speak by the dealerships owners after one of their employees had read my post and called to their office which I obligied. It has not nor will it change my view of their service. They want our business(dealerships) then sell a product that is worthy of our money and word of mouth and not treat us like redheaded stepchildren once they have gotten our money for a truck or the service they were supposed to provide.

If they can not handle something written on the internet about their poor service tactics and feel its a derogatory remark then why simply don't they perform the 5star service they all claim to have upon their walls??. They can not have it one way and not the other,we have and will post both good and bad service reports. Freedom of speech is a good thing and since its what they, questionable dealerships, all fear we need to allow it. what those dealerships do is nothing short of theft of our monies by not providing the service we have paid for(or incidently have returned for in the cases of warranty work). Its really a simple deal, provide the services we pay for and the word will quietly dissappear never to be heard from again. Don't and continue questionable tactics and word of mouth will and has killed many businesses.

Robin. .

I have not emailed you on this although I have read your post at the begining. This is a matter that should be discussed in a open forum and maybe they, dealershiups, will understand why we do what we have to,both good or bad... ... Andy

Good post Andy. I see no free speech violations here just being asked to refrain from lumping all dealers under one term.

Now if the admin told us we can't call them lying, thieving, jerks when one truly deserves it that would be a different story.
