use of snowplow on 3500 club cab 4x4 6 sp

Looking over the Dodge Chart for use of plows My 2004 3500DRW 4x4 with 6sp. ho engine is not recommended. has anyone found out why you can't.

I know some snowplow manufacturers don't list the cummins trucks for plows because they are so heavy that they will put the truck over the front axle weight rating. Which is why I decided not to mount the boss V-plow I had on my '03 and bought a snoway instead, since it is lighter.

I had a 9'2" Boss V on my 03 4 door short bed 4x4 HO. everything was fine... it is heavy but held it well... . put 80K on the truck before i sold it

My old man has a Boss V on his pickup, same truck as mine (see sig). Had his since Feb in the U. P of Mich (lotsa snow) and no problems so far. It was installed at the Dealer, no sweat.

Had a 96 2500 HD LWB with the optional snow plow package. Factory option for around $150. 00. Worked great no problems.

I read a couple of years ago on a snowplow website that a manual transmission was not recommended... ... . autos would absorb some of the shock of hitting objects or uneven pavement, where manuals would transfer more shock to the whole drivetrain.
