I was wondering if there is any kind of market out there for used injectors. I would like to upgrade from my stock injectors to a set of 275's for the right price. Any concerns I should be aware of buying used?

Also, how hard of a job is this to do? What, if any special tools are needed. It's OK to be breif here.

Thanks,

There should be no problem buying used injectors. Be sure to replace the copper sealing washer which can be purchased at any Cummins dealer. Also, might want to replace the O-ring, but doubt it is necessary. There are directions for installing the injectors in pdf format. I don't have the file, but I'm sure someone will have them.

275's and DD1 should be pretty easy to find in the classifieds since it seems that many people (myself included) will upgrade to bigger injectors at a later time. .

Hope this helps...

What Chuck3 said.....

DD2's with your present bombs is a terrific combo for street... . and, according to the responses from members who tow... I don't..... equally awesome.

IMO, if you're going for injectors DD2's will keep you happy for a long time unless you get a terminal case of bombitis, in which case, nothing will make you happy.

Thanks everyone for your help and suggestions... ... . now if I can just find a set of DD 2's that fit into my buget or someone willing to trade some glass or jewelry for a set.

If someone knows where to get the best price on new DD 2's let me know.

I went from stock, to DDII's, and egt's went sky hi, went to 275's and still had too high egt's. After getting help from SlowKwurt with his B 1 Turbo, have the egt's pretty much in check, so will be trying DDII's again, I'm a glutton for punishment!! Any way, if they work my 275's will be for sale. 20K mi. on them.

TNT, appreciate the link... ... ...

Thanks Yogi,

Keep my posted as to your progress.

I am also concerned about the EGT's and don't want to have the same type of troubles.

What have you done to "keep the EGT's in check" ?

I'll be headed back to Phoenix on Tuesday from Vegas and I have a pretty good idea my problem was bad gas and replacing the fuel filter has helped the stumbling I was feeling on the way here.

Now I am carring a spare with me.

Your EGT's should not have changed much, if any at all. My temps stayed the same as stock with my stock turbo. I have installed many sets of various level injectors in our area, and they too have seen little to no change in max or cruising EGT's with just injectors.

Something was not done or done right... you shouldn't have had to spend 1500 bucks to to fix EGT's from just injectors.
