Used Edge EZ pro/con's

Just wondering whats the best way to go,buy a new EZ or take

a chance with buying a used one. I'm a little hesitant about buying

a used one but there seems to be a few in the classifieds at

some what of a bargain price. Opinions needed and I'm a tight

wad when it comes to spending $$$$$. Thanks

I'd suspect that most of the used EZ type boxes you see around here came from one of two scenarios:



1) Owner wanted more power and bought a bigger box, now having no use for the EZ it's for sale.



2) Owner sold/traded the truck and the new one takes a different box than what he has so is selling the box to get another one.



Very rarely will anyone who tries one of these boxes want to give it back, so I don't think you'd have too many people who just don't want it and are selling it.



As such, I wouldn't really worry about it. It's not like these things "wear out" over time. They either work or they don't. I believe that we have a good group around here so I don't imagine that anyone here would try to represent something that they knew was broken as a working product. I would be careful of anything like this off of ebay though...

I can tell you that I felt the same way when I was shopping around. Found a used one online, talked with the guy. He actually shipped the EZ to me so I could try it out first and told me that if I liked it then I could pay for it. He let me have it for $225. I have the box and all the paper work. I called Edge to find out about warranty info and they told me that as long as the seller gave me his receipt it was still covered.



Bottom line, I agree with all of the above statements. I ended up with a great deal on a GREAT product!

I guess we have all had a used box at one time. I have had many, unlike them the used ez i bought works great!!

I would go ahead and get the used EZ, there are plenty out there.

I have purchased many used EZ's and all have worked fine.

I got a used EZ from the TDR classifieds, had it in for a few weeks and it stopped working. Sent it to Edge, and got a brand new one.
