i just purchased a used set of bd3's from massdiesel. they said to just reuse the copper washers and o-rings that come with the injectors and that i would have no problems. what does everybody else think?
The last diesel shop I spoke to said that reusing the copper washer on the 24 valve motors was OK. They said something about the washer not being a crush seal type like the old 12 valve ones were. So typically they do not get damaged when torqued down. At least thats what I have been told
I changed the copper washers when I put my used DD2's in but used the old o rings. I would have changed the o rings but forgot to order them too, so I just reused them. If i was doing it again, I would have used the old copper washers too.
I have reused the washers and o-rings a couple of times. I would look at the orings real close to make sure they are not nicked or cut anywhere and then go with them.
