How do you dispose of, recycle, or use your old oil???

I was told by a retired neighbor farmer of mine that they used to spread it over the wooden floors in old frame barns to preserve them. I think I am going to try that if and when it ever warms up here.

if it isn't synthetic, filter it through a 5µ or better filter and pour a gallon into each fuel fill up on your truck...

synthetic don't burn so well. . if i was running dino oil [rotella, delo... ], i'd pump it through some 2µ filters and pour a gallon or so into each tank when i fill up.

Here is my oil reuse system, I save all my old oil in two 55 gallon poly drums once I get both half full I get another drum of Diesel to mix with the 2 others.

The filter is a 5 micron sprial wound filter in a regular water filter housing.

The nozzel I made to fill the truck or fit into top of the drum to prevent it from falling out! (Dont ask why I now have one lol!)

I plan to use it to power a foundry. Lots more energy than gaseous fuel, and a little easier (I think) than working with coal.

One of these days...

Turbos4life has a pretty slick looking setup!

We have a waste oil burner at work. We used to burn all oils, engine, gear and hydraulic. Was too tempermetal. Now we just burn the hydraulic oil and the rest gets hauled off. Works better and less residue in the combustion chamber.

My sons heats his repair shop with waste oil... . oil, transmission fluid, brake fluid, it all goes in the tank. He has been using only that unit for 4 years now. Works very well.

The local landfill transfer station accepts 2 gallons per week for free. He must have thought the two containers in the back of my truck were one gallon containers because he didn't charge me for the 6 gallons I dumped in their tank.

Most places that sell such 'hazmat' materials are also required to collect similar used materials as well.

treating or reconditioning wood fence posts.

burning it in my tank.

mixing it with sand/gravel mix in my cement mixer and then spreading it out on my gravel driveway. Poor man's dust control
