Sleeper to cab bond

I'm sure I know the answer before I ask, but I'll ask anyway.

I need to replace the radiator on my 1992 Jeep Wrangler YJ 4. 0l I-6. It's easy enough to get a new one. The Napa I drive past everyday to and from work has it for $157 on their website. No too bad. The local junkyard isn't too far from there and has a used one on their website for $60. A $100 savings isn't small change, but I'm not too sure about a used one. Anybody ever buy a used radiator? Did it last a while? The junkyard warrantys their stuff for 30 days, so I guess if it's going to leak, I'd find out in those 30 days. Only bad part is to redo the job if I have to take it out.

Check Carquest also for pricing, sometimes they are cheaper. I searched and see the closest one to you is in Willimantic.

I would not trust the salvage yard radiator if you depend on the Jeep at all.

Mike. :)

Thanks guys. Those were the answers I was expecting. I was hoping to find a few people who have done it with decent results. I bet that's asking too much. Anyway, new one it is.

Mike-you made me stop and think for a minute. I couldn't remember where there was a Carquest in Willi and I've been in the area for many years. Once I searched it, I had a good little chuckle because it's about 3 or 4 miles from my house and I've only been there twice. It's a little hole in the wall on a side street that you drive by and miss it if you sneeze. The really ironic thing about it is that it's directly across the street from the Jeep dealer. Thanks for jogging my memory. I'll have to give them a call.

Update-

Mike-I checked with Carquest and you were right on. They wanted $123 for the radiator vs Napa's $157. That's no small difference. I was telling a friend about this and he suggested I try Radiators: Radiator.com. Car radiator, auto radiators, radiator replacement because he had good luck with them. He said they were way cheaper for a radiator he bought and they have a warehouse not too far away from my house. I called them and they asked me what the best quote I got was. I told them and they said that was actually really close to their price. He thought about it for a minute and then said he'd give it to me for $110 and deliver it to my front door for free. Well, that's a no brainer. I gave my credit card number right then and there and the radiator is now sitting in my garage. Awesome! Will wait to install it until there is no threat of snow in the long range forecast as the Jeep is my plow truck.

Excellent, you will be happier with this than some old take-out radiator that would have cost almost as much. Oo.
