Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Used vp 44

Will any vp 44 work on the 98. 5 to 02 Cummins or are they year, transmission specific. I know you can't use an HO on a SO engine but that's all I know about it.

You need to go by the CPL number found on the I. D. plate on the side of the pump. That is what determines what the pump is... what it goes on... etc. Mine is a #2024 which is on a 98. 5 4X2 5 speed. Not sure if you can mix and match... . I wasn't going to try it @ $1328 a pop.

I've got that # but I was looking to buy on e-bay. Guess I'll just take it off and get it rebuilt.
