maybe a burnt piston. . the combustion recess on the pistons between the 305 and the 325 engines are different slightly. the spray angle out of the 5 holes on the 325 injectors is tighter...

Has anyone tried using 325/600 injectors in a 305/555 engine if so what was the results

I have heard (second hand, so I can't say for certain) of people going the other way around, and getting better results (mileage, power) with the 305 injectors in a 325 engine.

Are the injectors identical save the tips? I wonder if someone put 305 tips in a 325 injector, if it would work in the 305?

100% yes, In fact that it what I have. I bought core 05 injectors, sent them to DON M, he put 03 tips one them. Good to go.

And I have heard that you CANNOT put 05's in an 03 truck... . BUT you can put 03 tips in an 05 truck. .

Crazy... .

I would just get the bodies and have someone do the right tips...

Well then why haven't more people done it? Why would people still be waiting for don's new injectors to come out for the 04. 5 and up crowd? Just curious, I am not sure myself.

I think because just throwing an 03 style tipped injector in an 05 motor may run ok , may make power - But it is unknown if it will last. I think don is most likely making the neccesary changes to unsure that the 05 injector be of full benefit, not just an "OK" solution...
