using EGR on tuned engine to aid in warm up.

yes i know it's blasphemy to speak of using the EGR on a tuned engine. but my truck was dPF deleted. the EGR is still in tact but unpluged. could one plug it back in and use it in the winter to aid in warming up the engine? or will it not activate on account the tuner, EFI tuned.

I am not sure how EFI live deletes the EGR valve but the Smarty removes the actuator inside the valve so the EGR system will not work. Now to warm up the truck I use the exhaust break on the VGR turbo this seems to work well.
