As I was thumbing through issue # 28,saw Geno`s has the USS Junkbox and the EZ Drain plug and tube. Both of which I am interested in Purchasing. I would like some honest opinions on these two items as far as quality, installation, and practicality. I value all replies. THANK`S FOLKS!

Installed the EZ oil drain the change before last and used it this last time. Worked like a champ. I have a large plastic covered pan with a hole in the center that just fit the EZ drain tube. Did it in a campground while snowbirding down south. Ended up with no mess to clean up and I don't think anyone even noticed I did the job.

I have the EZ Drain plug with the plastic tube that screws in and releases the oil. It works great.
I let it drain for awhile and then take the oil filter off. This reduces the oil level in the filter and saves the mess of oil on the engine.
I keep the old plug in the unit for (just in case) Probably wouldn't have the right size wrench with me if an emergency did exist.

Check out the "Finger Touch Engine Oil Drain Valve" also. It has some advantages and is not as costly.

Drain plug works great. Only concern I have is, does all the oil drain from the pan as the plug does look as if it protrudes into the pan a bit.

Ditto, Hacksaw. But I think I may try it anyway.

Also the valve thing kinda scares me - definitely no good for off roading! #ad

Ordered the Junk Box awhile ago, piece of cake to install, does a good job of organizing under the rear seat. Wish it was a bit deeper but would order it again.

I'm with TXRam, if you take it off road at all it could some how come open or get broke. I think I will stay with the burnt fingers and oily hands.

BARRACUDA: THE EZ DRAIN "THINGY" IS COOL #ad
UNFORTUNATELY, IT DOES PROTRUDE INTO THE PAN AND ACTUALLY LEAVES AROUNT 1 1/2 TO 2 QTS OF OIL IN THE BOTTOM OF THE PAN. NEXT TIME I CHANGE OIL, I WILL REMOVE THE EZ DRAIN PLUG AND ADD A REALLY THICK TEFLON WASHER. JUST MY THOUGHT.

Phil and TX,I agree with you guys. I have banged up the bottom of my oil pan while off roading which means clearance is critical. I guarantee I would sheer off that finger touch drain plug or open it by accident, and that would not be cool.
I have never had a problem with the factory drain plug but the EZ plug does look like a good one.
