Attention: TDR Forum Junkies 
Well, it only took a year but I killed my Getrag. Pulled one fairly larg trailer over Eisenhower and Vail pass and Getrag was making a funny noise when I got home(man I killed some PSD's on the way up Eisenhower though. ) I was changing the fluid tonight and checked the counter shaft end-play
, about 3/16 of an inch of end-play. :--) Pulled the bearing, yikes, but I think rest of transmission is OK for now. I have only put about 50-100 miles on it since I towed the trailer due to the funny noise. Autozone can't get the bearing and Checker didn't have it in stock. I guess I'll order it monday or check the other parts stores when they are open. I toasted a couple of shims though, anyone know if I can get them from the stealer or anywhere else? Well, maybe this thing will live long enough to build up the 6 speed finances. I don't think I will pull hard in 5th again, I only did it once on Eisenhower to see how she pulled. 80 in 5th gear and still had more, pulling about 8000lb trailer, 5 people in trick and swing set and weight center in bed.
