Can somebody please steer me in the right direction on where I can get more info on these, or does anyone else make a high hp box that would compare to the TST on a early 04. Thanks, Mike

Yes I am having issues with it I should have never gotten the reflash done and kept the old program, these new programs cater more to the 04. 5's I think; it is inconsistant though one day it will work good and the next it will run like ****. I was told that the injector sequence in the 03 and early 04's are a 2 step sequence and on the 04. 5's it is a 3 step, I am not sure if this makes a difference but if you look at most of the complaints they are coming from the 555 owners. I just hope that there is a high hp alternative out there.

Piers Diesel Research carries VA boxes. . . 1-866-888-9396 or www.piersdiesel.com. Good duys to deal with. I didn't look at your sig, but if you want it to run strong you need more than the stock charger. Mine gets warm, but I'm stacked. BTW, you can stack the VA C3. 1 (pressure box) with the VA C3. 2 (duration box) and with them both being adjustable, you can sort of adjust your heat. Good luck!

If you have an 03/04 and you are having problems with your TST, please…. . PLEASE, call TST and let them know your having issues and what year truck you have. I have yet to convince them that they have messed something up in the programming for the 03/04s and have a lot of trucks that are now TST intolerant. If we can get their programmer to put in a little time, I'm sure they can figure it out, but right now they won't acknowledge that they have a problem. :-{} We need enough people with 03/04s with problems to call in order to get their attention.

Just a quick phone call to let them know you are having an issue…. . 812-342-6741.

OK, now that my groveling is over :) ... . …. .

VA's pressure box is awesome with big low end torque gains, yet keeps peak pressure to a minimum. Their duration box is the same, but with no timing can get pretty hot pretty quick. Problem free boxes. Can't wait for their new timing/duration box. Hope it can compete with the big guns.

Any of these U. S. distributors can fill you in:

I think Doug's Fueling Box Matrix has an article or two on them: http://www.nwbombers.com/membersites/doug/matrix.htm

I have called and emailed TST to no avail so that is why I am selling mine. Someone else can deal with it and/or send it back to get reflashed for the newer trucks. Otherwise, it is just a glorified paperweight for me now. 3 guys in town here have the original twins TST program on early '03s like mine with no issues at all.

I love my VA C3. 1 too for its low end. I love it even more after Don M posted about injector wear versus higher setting Edge EZ use versus Richard's injectors with 3. 1 use!

I hope that the VA timing and duration box materializes. Do you know if they something like this already for the European common-rail market?

I had TST send me a used box with the twins version on it and it cured my 2000 rpm surge. Something was not quite right with it though. Power levels didn't work as they were suppose to. I could run it on 6/6 (we are talking twins version) and felt about like 7/7 on the soft program. I'm thinking maybe the box had a problem, being the reason it was returned in the first place.

I'd like to get my hands on a twins version box that I know works correctly and see what it does. I still have hopes for TST, but they had better get on the ball before competitive products become available.

The Predator performance module is a really good choice , will make around 115 hp. On a stage III , and if you read the latest article ,in TDR its coming to light that fuel and boost boxes actually increase timing and duration, this is achieved by the computer seeing the offset fuel and boost sensors reading and adding duration and timing to make up for the perceived deficiencies .

Fuel economy is an added benefit of increasing the power output of diesel engines, more power , means that BSFC or Brake Specify Fuel Consumption , or pounds of fuel burned per horsepower hour is decreased . This means in layman’s terms that each hp cost less fuel to make. If a truck cruising at steady state uses a given amount of hp to stay at that speed ,and you pay less pounds of fuel for each hp produced , you achieve a increase in fuel economy.

I always try and stay out of the my box is better then their box argument . but with the latest articles in TDR on fuel boxes I thought I would expound on my ideals on diesel aftermarket performance .

Give Predator a call, the modules work great and the power gains are documented.

I just had my TST box reflashed 3 weeks ago with the twins program, I haven't had any issues with surging, codes or anything else of that nature. I do, however, have the 606 code that I've had since I originally bought the box but it hasn't caused me any problems. I wish I could be of more help - John

Moving the TST's ground wire off of the battery to a bolt on the fender with nothing else grounding to it will fix this one. Some folks have run the ground into the cab and attached it to the metal frame under the dash. Both methods work. The key is just getting the ground wire off of the battery and onto a clean ground.

Sure wish my results were as good as yours. On a good day, it will scare you. Good days are just too far between.

I agree, I am going to call TST again in the morning. On the good days I would not trade this box for anything but like you said there are more bad day's than good.

VanAaken 3.1 on 04.5

Sorry to steer this thread into a slightly different direction but does anyone know if the VanAaken 3. 1 pressure box works on 04. 5 "600"s? Their website isn't too conclusive and I haven't received a reply from them when I asked.

I would give those contacts that AK Ram posted above a call to clarify. For example, the dieselperformance parts site list them for 2003 and 2004, but nothing for 2004. 5. Then the 2005 search turns up the 2003 boxes.

In addition to those links, I think Jannetty Racing carries them too:

Piers is the one that I heard it from. They say they're working on it now that some other projects are complete but no ETA yet. I'm really looking forward to a new offering from VA. They seem to be able to make monster power on the DMX and have the best driveability on my truck. Should be an interesting summer for us '03/'04 guys with new items coming from Quad, VA, and Edge (in just one more month :-laf ).

Just got off the phone with Dennis Perry @ TS Performance and he was very knowledgeable and helpful regarding the TST and what should be stacked with it, he was thinking that some of the problems that I am having with my TST could be caused by the stack that I am using, he did tell me that the EZ was a great box but it is not meant for the higher hp guy's; so we started talking about there Ramifier and it sounds like it would be a great box to stack with the TST, I just want to make sure that the pressures that they run are safe with my F1 injectors. I did check with VA and they told me today they hope to have some test versions out in 3 months. Might make a good stack with their C3. 1

I wonder if they will retrofit the older units like the word was before?
