The '93 and the '98 both leak oil out of the vacuum pump. Greg H and I were talking on the phone tonight, about the '93 and I couldn't explain how engine oil is leaking out of it. So for the edification of the masses can one of you more astute mechanics explain what is going on with the oil and the vac pump? Is is just passing down a shaft that runs the power steering? Or does it lubricate the vac pump also?

It lubes the vac pump and the bearings in it.

The exhaust from the vac pump vents back into the crankcase with the engine oil.

Vacuum pump exhaust?? :confused::confused:

Venting to the crankcase causing the blow by tube to vent?? :confused::confused:
