Has anyone had instant catastrophic failure of the vaccuum pump? I was just taking my kid to the ER and it started smoking REAL bad. In the five miles to get back home it dumped 3 quarts of oil! The whole side of the block is covered and I can't see where its coming from yet. I just sprayed the thing off and I'm letting it dry up so I can look at it better. The oil line is attached but thats all I can tell so far. I gotta have it running. Vaccuum pump or any other ideas? It seems to run ok and theres no water in oil. Thanks for any ideas.

It wasn't the pump. All the smoke was out the exhaust. Oil was being pushed out the boost boot - another turbo crapped out! I'm glad I caught it before it ran awar. 3 quarts is a heck of a lot of oil! I gotta get a new one in a hurry. I do a lot of towing - stock trailer and 10k 5er. What do ya recommend and who can get it here in a hurry? I want to order tomorrow on phone or tonight online. Thanks

Dave

Bill, thanks for the numbers. I just spent the last couple hours researching here and all I got was confused. I did find a few that said to call HTT and do what they say. I'll be busy tomorrow am. My G'ma just had a stroke and I need to get to San antonio next weekend. I really appreciate the quick reply.

If you want to do a minor upgrade, get the Hybrid HX40 with 14cm exhaust. It requires no upgrades other than maybe larger injectors, and is not all that expensive.

With your edge and injectors, you will be fine.

HTT's hybrid is on the way, along with new boots. Thanks for the help guys. I was researching the site for info and with the panic didn't think about the ads in the magazine. Its nice to have someone else think straight for ya.
