Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) vacuum hose colaspe

I was checking out how I was going to change the fuel heater filter and I noticed that the vacuum hose shown in the attached photo was colasped. Is this normal? I don't think it looks right should I change it?

Time to change it. If it gets any oil residue in it the hose will die quickly

Nothing really special about it. Needs to be stronger than regular vacuum hose. Something with semi rigid wall. But it by the foot.

If you're speaking of the one off the vacuum pump, it is a special hose. Both ends are not the same size.

I stand corrected. I think it is larger at the pump end.

I used a heavy coolant hose I found at NAPA, after 12,000 miles its still doing the job. I still have brakes.

Aren't your brakes hydroboost? I thought the only 2nd gen trucks that had vacuum brakes were 1994, like me.

First hydroboost was '97, at least on 1 ton.

Same on the 2500s. First hydroboost was 97. I've had my converted and it was well worth the price. Vacuum on these trucks can be scary.
