Lost the diaphragm in the vacuum pump. Tore it off in the campground and installed the bypass belt. Pump bearings seem fine, oil was clean. Anyone tried the replacement diaphragm offered from Geno's?
Will check responses tomorrow night.

Thanks as always for your opinions!

Mike.

After a few PM's offering good advice I am going to try the HD diaphragm kit. The pump itself looked to be in pristine condition.

I was going to mention the new HD diaphragm. I replaced my OEM one in the fall of 2103 before the HD kit was available.

I ended up doing the whole thing vs just the diaphragm but I am not sure how many miles/hours are on yours.

I am not sure, I THINK about 100,000 miles and 6-7 years. No complaints and the engine brake is always turned on regardless of what the truck is doing.

My only concern was that it might seize on the way over but as I listened harder I decided that the noise was not steel on steel so i motored on and changed the belt to bypass it once I arrived at the campground. Then I removed the pump for autopsy....

Had an offer to service a Super Duty while my tools were all out but I politely declined.......:D
