Vacuum pump PUKING oil!

Losing a quart about every 50 miles. Seal replaced a couple of months ago- it's blown & one of the P/S pump mounting ears is cracked. Where's the best deal on a vacuum pump? Does anyone have a good used vacuum pump/ power steering pump assy. they'd like to sell? HELP!

I guess nobody wants to talk to you, Bill. I'll help bump you to the top. From what I have read lately, people have not been having much luck with the rebuilt power steering pumps. Since you need the whole setup, I would try junkyards. A good used one would probably last longer than a rebuilt based on what I have heard.

Mine has been fine for a year after replacing the seal and the pump. got the seal from CPFF and the pump at NAPA. So far the pump has acted fine and not leaked. If the drive dog on the end of the power steering pump is beat up and has a burr it will damage the seal upon assembly. The pump was only about $75 and it took less than an hour to R&R the second time I had it out.

I appreciate everyone trying to help. As I couldn't afford to have the truck down, I bought a new pump @ CSP & got it installed the next day. The Exxon Valdez is officially decommissioned!
