Is it just me or is the oring between the two halves just to large ?

I ran into the same problem with my '91, I think it was a Gould kit. The small o-ring for the seal holder casting was too large and sheered some off when I installed it. But it didn't leak. I did buy another one frim Cummins just in case, they appear to be the right size.

I got my kit from genos the other oring and seal was fine . The last one of these I did the same oring you sheared sheared on mine but didn’t leak
