well I got a new power steering pump because i had a oil leak. Well with the power steering/ vacuum pump off the engine, it looks like the vacuum pump was leaking too?. . My truck is a '89 w350, and it has the early twin diaphram vacuum pump etc... My local auto parts place "big A", doesn't show it in its catalogs. They only show the 2 separate diaphrams at $139 each!, and the later first gen '91-'93 pump with out the external bolt on diaphrams. Should I just upgrade to the later vacuum pump and steering box?. Does it work well, or better, or worst? Is it prone to leaking etc? I plan on swapping a 2nd gen intercooler, and p pump in later. So I'm hoping my '89 vacuum pump isn't in the way etc.
Any ideas? or Help?
Here are the part #s the parts guy told me :
-'89 style external diaphrams #64-1300
-not shown was the aluminum center section of the '89 style vaccum pump???
-'91-'93 style internal diaphram vaccum pump #64-1301
Thanks.
