vacuum pump squealing

I have a 04.5 DRW 4x4 and I the think vacuum pump stopped working as my CC has stopped working and seems to be making a high pitch squeal under heavy load conditions, any help would be appreciated

The vacuum pump is just an electric pump behind the passenger battery, load won't make it squeal or not squeal. Unless you mean an EB vacuum pump then that is not CC and a different matter entirely.

Isn't the cruise on that model electronic, not vacuum operated?

The 04's still had vac pump for cruise, wasn't until 05 and the APPS move that it was eliminated totally.

Thanks for the replies I'm starting to think it is a boost leak as it is only at high boost but it sometimes starts and stops without any rhyme or reason, also it seems to be coming from the right front.
