Vacuum pump

How much vacuum should the pump be providing? is there a certain way too test it, or just hook up a vacuum gauge and take a reading?

Mine pulls 22-25in Hg.



I hooked a gauge in the system somewhere- I forget exactly where. It fit on the back of the gauge, so I'm thinking it was a small hose off the vacuum valve on the booster.
