vacuum pump

I have a 2006 3500 with a exhaust brake. I recently replaced the vacuum pump and pulley less than 78,000

Miles. My new vacuum pump is starting to go out after less than 1500 miles. Is there something else I need to

look at that may have caused the new pump to go out. Or is it that I got a defective pump.

Most likely a leak someplace causing the pump to run too much - same as the last thread. .

You should be able to hold 25" of vacuum for several minutes. I'd start with a vacuum tester.
