Just thought I would ask if anyone has experience with the Valair Double Disk Organic clutch? I now have a single disk dual feramic and organic in now and am looking for something with a smother ingagement. But Can hold for heavy towing. I tow trailers about 15-18 K gross.

The Valair folks recomend this Double disk all organic for constant towing and at my current truck set up. Its an 09 3500 4x4 g56 trans as shown in sig.

Thank you for any shared knowledge.

South Bend now has a heavy duty organic faced clutch, wider facings and HD hub. It is smooth, holds power, long lasting.

I have had great costomer service with south bend in the past.

I talked to them at south bend and they recommended there dual material double disk that would have the same engagement maners as my ofe I currently have. They said the clutch u are talking about would not do the job for me. That's why I asked the question about the valair dd all organic. That valair recommended for me. I want a clutch with same manners as the con o. Or as close as I can get it.

Has any one out there have a dd all organic in there truck that tows heavy that can share there experience?

Thanks

I have a OFE and it's only grabby on very very rare occasion (don't recall the last time), and I gross 17-18K most weekends in the summer. I have read that if yours is grabby a few slow 3rd gear slip engagements will smooth it out.

I have a friend with a '10 G56 and a valair organic DD, it's smooth but that is the noisiest trans/clutch combo I have ever heard. It sounds like a jackhammer is under the truck when he is stopped.

How much power are you pushing? SBC recommended the HD O for my dads truck (06 G56) in a towing application with about 325-350 rwhp.

South bend told me I am around 450 rwhp rear wheels w my truck. Valair has that clutch now in a quiet version they told me

There is no magic involved. All clutches are compromises. Dual disc clutches result in more momentum thus are somewhat harder on synthcronizers and can be slower to shift. If South Bend tells you there is a difference in behavior, you can believe them; I would take their word over that of others trying to sell copycat stuff.

That is one thing I like about Peter, he will tell you the truth even tho it may loose him a sale.

I called and talked with Peter and he says that the organic single disk hd will do the job. The person I talked to at SB the first time(it was not Peter) must have missunderstood what my truck set up was.

Thank you for all of the replies.
