Hey guys I went to the dealer today to see what theyd offer for a trade in value. I have 98 24v 2500 4x4 qc slt 142k fair condition. Grill guard fog lights spray in bed liner yellow tops. I have the stock tire and wheels on it presently. Aftermarket stereo. They offered me a whopping 9 k. What are you guys seeing for offers?

Dealers generally offer you right around or just under what the blue/black books suggest. They can't give you what you think/know it's worth because they obviously want to make $$ on it. I've traded in a couple of vehicles but only because of the situation we were in at the time (military). I think that it is always better to try to sell it outright because you will find someone that actually knows what you have and what it is really worth. Just my opinion...

Big Daddy,

I have had just about the same experience on my last 2 Dodge trucks, about 9k at trade in time with dealership. I currently am trying to sell my 2002 chassis cab model myself but am not having much luck but will keep it before I completely give it away. I really don't want to sell it but due to family illness need to. I'm just waiting for the right person to come along as my truck is in excellent shape but has 102,000 miles. If you can afford to sell it yourself you will do better than through the dealer.
