LOL

Yeah exactly... ...

I HATE to see that on a dealers lot even more.

The average joe that doesn't know anything about the trucks may call it a Cummings but a dealer oughta know better!

KO

Is the description revised to clarify the Cummins. There isn't a six cylinder except the Cummins and the 456 is the axle ratio (I think). If it is really an easy fix, someone will get a deal. But that is the question IF.

Well it really could be simple and the owner is even more simple minded. That is just one possibility. Another is that you might spend a bundle and still not have the truck running.

But PT Barmun got it right. There is a sucker born every minute. I would start with the thought that it has a serious problem and bid accordingly.

It feels fishy to me, Old car guys are real bad about that... ... oh it's low mileage and runs great, just needs a battery then you drive to go look at it, one state over and what do you know, it needs MUCH more than a battery and a fuel pump, oil pump, water pump, rings, headgaskets... on and on... . if this truck on ebay may just need a battery then why wouldn't he put one in just on the chance it could work and make much more money??? bid like it doesn't even roll. Oh yes and no feedback on ebay is like 0 points credit, these trucks can be found with patience and in RUNNING condition 99% of the time.

The concerns I would have is around the axles. It says it has a GM front axle under it. This truck most likely came with 3:54's under it. As far as I know GM never offered anything higher ratio than a 4:10. So do the axles have matched gear sets? Or are you getting a 2wd truck till you regear one axle?

The second question is what happened to the orginal axle? That GM axle looks to be about 4" wider than the orginal was.

There is a question asked why it wouldn't run. They had it towed home and let it set. Not likely. The girl friend said it wouldn't start. I have never seen a fuel fitler stopped up bad enough that the engine wouldn't at least start and idle.

This is a high milage truck and I would bet no repairs were done unless it wouldn't move. Then they were done the cheapest way they could get by with.

For that Dana 60, you can buy gears as low as 5. 38. Now from the factory, 4. 56's are the lowest ive seen, they came in the old M1008 CUCV military pickups. The highest ive ever seen in a 3/4 or 1 ton from the factory is a 3. 73
