With all the talk about Valve bodys, Heres another thread.

I'm looking to upgrade my transmission before the winter. Thats so it can handle an EZ with DDII's and a 4" exhaust.

I'm driving out to Colorado & Utah in a week and would like to try to turn up my line pressure on my valve body so my transmission can handle the long haul that much more.

With 10,000 miles on it now and it will probably have another 8,000 by the time I get back. I'll be looking to upgrade then to a VB & TC from either Blue chip or DTT.

Is there anything I can do in the meantime?

kevin , call bill , 604 504 4002 , he'll tell you what to do to get you thru the next 8k miles , i have an idea , but am not exactly sure and don't want to give any mis information .

let us know...

Hey Mac,

Let us know what Bill says because I am planning on having the same basic mods done within the year.

Hey Kevin... when you get here... give me a call, I'll take you for a ride in my truck and show you how a REAL transmission is supposed to work. Bill K's 91% TC... . ohhh yeahhh!!! Currently I am running an EZ and DD2's... and boy is this transmission rock solid!!!

Honestly I wouldn't play with the line pressures until you get a real TC and VB installed to hold the power. JMHO

Had my line pressure raised.....

My truck weighs in at 10,500 GVW. Talked to Bill K. and he recommended raising the pressure on mine. Had a local transmission shop do it when they changed my fluid and filter, also had them cut in a tee for my transmission temp sender while it was empty.

transmission grabs better now. Shift points are a little higher, that took some getting used to. It just feels a little more solid.

I am planning on some injectors soon so I'm saving up now for the TC/VB. Seems a shame to pay so much for a truck then have to fork out more to make it right. Thank God It's a work truck and I can write all this off:D :D

line pressure adj.

To adjust your line pressure you will first need a pressure gauge that reads at least 0-150 psi. You will also need a 3/16" allen wrench that has been shortened on the short end to be able to turn the adjustment, a new filter and pan gasketas well as some ATF+3 fluid. The line pressure port is the middle one on the passenger side of the case. Your gauge will need a hose long enough to reach the driver's seat or a friend to hold and watch it on the pass. side of the truck( not under the truck!!) as you have to be in drive to get a reading. The most accurate reading is taken warm. Shoot Bill an e-mail or a call and he'll tell you how much you can adjust it. If Bill is out of pocket contact me and I'll help. Later
