Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) valve body question

Has anyone changed their valve body with an aftermarket one? Do you have to remove the trans or can you change it in the truck? I was thinking of doing it, but never worked on transmissions. how hard is it to do? Thanks Rick M

yes you can change it in truck just drop the pan and it is right there the filter is on it where are you going to get one from if I may give HTS a call top of the chain for transmission and vavle bodys plus he probably walk you though doing it talk to Dusty.

it is easy, i did mine back in 2000. took a few hrs, it is just messy and you have to be neat. there are 3 different size bolts that hold the vb in, and they need to go back in the hole they came out of. the e clip that holds the park rod on is a little tricky to get back in without the slick simple tool that bill k has. josh
