Archived Valve Cover Gaskets

I am installing the grey gaskets form cummins and need to know if they get tightened all the way or just snug. The only thing they told me was to make sure every thing is completely dry when installing. Thanks

I think the bolts only go in so far, just go till they stop. Someone corect me if I am wrong.

First gens get torqued to 18 Ft/ LBS. I'm guessing your 97 is the same.

Paccol is correct. As per 1997 service manual 18ft lbs (24 nm).
