i guess i'll tackle this one too. is the tool kit from cummins worth it? how much does it cost? is the engine barring tool the easiest way to turn the engine? thanks for the input. scott.
I lay on my back under the truck, grab the balancer with both hands, and turn it over that way. It's not hard, just let it rest a little when you feel it coming up on a compression stroke
I bought the kit a few years ago for about $125. Most parts of the kit are duplicates of tools / sockets I already had. The barring tool can be bought separately thru an after market source. I was Lazy. The barring tool does work well for turning over the CTD. I use an air rachet until I get close.
