2001-24 valve cummins, I got 134,000 on the engine, At what mileage should the valves be set. and if I am over the miles what is the best way to set the valves.does the cover gasket needs to be replace. THANKS.
The recommended interval is 150k miles. Back when I changechanged my injectors out I checked mine at about half that mileage and they were all good. If yours have never been checked it might not be a bad idea to be on the safe side but your still under the mileage according to Cummins. If your gasket doesn't leak and doesn't appear to be hard and brittle it can probably be reused.
Only trouble is the little 1/2" square hole does not hold much beer. But if you put it in the freezer over night and in a mug with beer it would keep the beer cool for quite a while. SNOKING
