So Is there any Performance Gains or does it just keep the valves from floating?

Springs needed for higher rpms, Also anytime the boost is higher than 50lbs. Or aftermarket cam is used. The push rod are needed after the springs stock push rods will deflect which reduces lift, retards cam timing and shortens duration.
