Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Valve springs with 4gsk

I was told by a very reputable shop yesterday that you really didn't need to install new valve springs with 4gsk with the stock camshaft. They said installing the valve springs with the stock camshaft really was not the best thing. This seems to go against what i have heard. What do you guys think?

I seem to remember it coming down to as long as you didnt spend a whole lot of time up in the top end there you will prolly be ok. But better safe than sorry. Would you really want to trash your engine over some valve srpings? jmo
