We did this on a buddy of mine's truck some years back. Check Geno's Garage for the valve spring compressor tool (different one for 12v than 24v). We brought each piston up to TDC, used calve spring compressor tool, removed keepers, loosened the tool removed (1 at a time) each spring, then the seal, new seal, replace spring, next and etc. ending with recompressing springs and keepers. I "think" in the FSM there's instruction on procedure.
 
OK, is it possible its a broken ring?
I dearly hope not but yes definitely possible going to pull the valve cover off get the tool and see what I can see I really don’t feel like doing another engine rebuild right now it’ll probably get ran if that’s the case
 
I may pull the head anyway there is a exhaust manifold bolt broken off . No idea the history of the engine or anything on this truck . Someone has replaced the rear axle with one from a first gen 350

my factory service manual on cd quit working I need to get a new one
