Two immediate changes I am going to make are replacing the flexible rubber valve stems and add mud flaps.

The OEM rubber stems are too flexible to get a decent pressure reading (rear duals) or fill with air. I am thinking a bent metal extension for inside dual and short metal for outside. Those of you that have already done this I would appreciate brands, model #'s and source for the stems. BTW, I had thought that the valve stems on duals were supposed to be 180 degrees apart. Mine are in the same wheel hole on both sides.

Mud flaps. I found Husky mud flaps for the duals that are reasionably priced. Anyone using them? Or, if not, what are you using?

Thanks.

My guy at Discount tire said that these trucks are supposed to have high pressure valve stems any way. when I got new tires mine did not have HP stems, it just had the rubber ones so I had some HP metal ones installed.

Mine is 06 and 8 lugs with 5 cutouts in wheel make it not easy to make the valve stems come out opposit each other. I do have a hard time checking/airing up the rear duals though as mine are the rubber stems also. (they are high pressure though) I think the regular auto stems would blow through the hole with 80# on the tire. I have Westin flaps, they are simi rigid, I like them. bg
