Valve train noise?

I've heard a valve type noise-a "high pitched chirp", very inconsistent at my valve covers. It's a new sound to me. I've adjust the valves about 80K-miles ago, very slight adjustment needed. I'm getting the best average-mileage ever at 21+mpg, truck runs like a champ! Oil is full, 2K from last change, no discoloration/contamination. I have not opened 'er-up yet. Hmmm, What should I look for? What y'all think that noise is? Should I worry, or just keep on "Truckin?"

What y'all think of the potential Nissan 2.8 Cummins Frontier Runner? It's got gauges + I can't wait to drive one/buy one. Sounds like a fine package:-laf Oo.

Now many miles on the springs, are they factory springs, and how much boost are you running?

In signature...133 rwhp/311 rwt. No boost gauge, truck all OEM intake system, except for BHAF, 3" straight pipe, 24" non-restriction muffler.

Thanks for the input Do ya' think valve springs are weak? Can I continue driving? I only haul 500lbs 4-times a week, about 200-mile round trips runs at most once a week.

with 304k on them it would not hurt to check, springs do get weak over time and stock springs are only 35psi closing pressure, is there a certain rpm it dose it? that said I don't think your over boosting, or at least would not be with good springs

Belt slipping on the tensioner? Return springs in the IP making noise? Couple of other things things that can cause chirps. Either thast or or there is a birds nest in the hood liner.

Id take the belt off and fire it up there too many things turning that can make the same noise , water pump , fan hub bearing , AC compressor even the alternator or the belt idlers

Ive seen loose motor mounts or bolts rattel as well
