My best source is through the Cummins shops. I also get all my oil and fuel filters there for my truck, car and other equipment. If you get the Power Boosters card you get a discount on all purchases.

Wally Mart used to have it in quarts but no more. I just get a case of 6 gallons of Rotella @ Sam's (I think it's like $45) good for 2 oil changes and pick up filters through Geno's or the local Cummins shop. The Cummins shop was kinda pricy on the blue so I stopped getting it. MHO

What is the Power Booster card?

What are people paying for a gallon of the Valvoline Premium Blue Extreme synthetic oil?

You probably aready know this but Premium blue extreme is not a true synthetic. Just priced almost as high and can be labeled synthetic because of the way it's produced. It works almost as good as synthetic so if being petroleum oil and being labeled synthetic doesn't bother you, it's your choice.

I've ordered it from my local NAPA before, and paid $25/gal for it yesterday at our local Cummins shop.

For me and mine, I run Rotella-T. The PBE I bought was for a friend.

What do you guys think about the Valvoline that Cummins recommends and Mobil Delvac?? I've always what oil is just the daddy rabbit of all. Anybody got any real facts on which is better??

I ran Rotella-T and the Valvoline PBE in my 03. Ran them both for 5k miles and then took oil samples of each. The PBE was first. It had abnormal levels of potassium. The Rotella was next. It came back clean. That was with about 30k miles on the truck. CTC labs did the analysis.

Since then, I've just run good ol Rotella from Wal-Mart. I couldn't justify the extra expense for the synthetic. Especially when it came back with poorer numbers than dino.

If the Premium Blue came back with Potassium - don't blame the oil - it was your truck, how you took the sample, or??? Potassium should not be part of the new oil additive package.

Valvoline stands behind the product...

Here's my story;

I always use Valvoline mainly cause it's recommended and it's handy at the Cummins store along with all the required filters. But, just this past Dec while on my way to Roswell NM. I passed through a town called Monticello in Utah and decided to pick up some oil for a change out in Roswell, at the local NAPA. When we went to do the change , in Roswell at the QuickLube, we opened the 3 jugs and poured the first one in as normal but the other 2 were all lumpy and crystallized, is the only way I could describe them. The fellow changing the oil said he'd never see it like this before and refused to put it in the engine. Any way long story short (a bit) I just called Valvoline after getting back home and they arranged for me to p/u 3 fresh jugs at the local NAPA here in town.

I have to say really impressed with service. No run around at all I made one call and that was it.
