I had heard the oil companies have pretty much stopped making the older-spec CI-4+, but the local NAPA has some. Should I buy it all, or will it remain available?

According to the Vavoline web sight Vavoline Premium Blue classic CI-4+ is avaible in 5 gallon pails.

NAPA will get the CI-4 for you in 5 gal pails. I believe they call it CLASSIC PREMIUM BLUE. Do a search, someone listed the NAPA PN for the 5 gal pails.

I take it by your join date, yeah, stock up on CI-4 or CI-4+. I haven't stocked up yet because Amsoil hasn't converted their 10W or 15W-40 diesel oils over to the CJ-4 yet.
