I have been reading about this stuff but who sells it?? I live in Suffolk county, long Island and none of the auto stores nearby sell a full synthetic power steering fluid. Only blended.

From what I read on the label, Valvoline power steering (PS) fluid contains synthetic additives. DIIK what that means but i get really suspicious of "synthetic blends" or similar labeling.

The only fully synthetic PS fluid I found is Royal Purple.

Valvoline

Valvoline Synpower power steering fluid is a synthetic blend. It sure does make the Dodge PS pump work better. I got mine at PEP BOYS.

Valvoline

My source, Autozone, no longer stocks it here for some reason. I haven't been able to find an alternative source yet locally.

Who makes it and who sells it ????

Find a dealer or buy it here http://www.royalpurple.com/

Royal Purple is a great product but what I like about the Valvoline syn blend is that it's compatible with the OEM fluid, no need to drain the entire system to change over plus it works great.

Not sure if this is the case with the full syn RP, you may have to drain the entire system, no big deal, but a hassle.

grtescpa....

Can't help you with the Royal Purple, but Valvoline Syn shouldn't be that hard to get..... Napa, or any auto parts store that carries Valvoline could order it for you.

Or, PM me and I'll ship you an extra quart I've got..... my treat.

Disclaimer... . I'm not affilitated with Valvoline in any way;)

I purchased my Royal Purple MaxEZ 100% synthetic power steering fluid via a link provided by another TDR member several months ago... the name escapes me now though. Anyway, I purchased a "case" (qty. 6 quarts = case? ) of the MaxEZ for I believe, $29. 95 (+ shipping).

:D

Works

I have used the Valvolene fluid in my Dakota and Ram Cummins. It works great !! My wife's Powerstroke Excursion had a real stiff steering problem when you were going slow, so I put it in that thing also. It is now steerable. I like it so much better!!!! :D

RP MaxEZ Power Steering Fluid is a synthetic high performance product compatible with the stock OEM fluids. It can be used for topping off the reservoir or if completing changing out the system. Obviously, greater performance increases will occur if you do a complete changeover.

This is the same product that you can get from one of the major racing power steering manufacturer's but under the RP label.

RedLine makes an excellent all-synthetic PS fluid and is available at a lot of racing shops. Interestingly... it also satisfied API 75W GL-4 gear requirements. I been running this for PS fluid ~2-yrs and works great.

If you go to the Valvoline website you can find the part number of the PS fluid there and just give it to the dude at the parts store. It made ordering mine easier, the kid behind the counter was a little confused when I asked for the stuff.
