Just received my gauges. And ready to install. I've got the trans temp gauge part num 310 107 --which starts at 150f and goes to 400f. After re-reading some posts , it looks like the fluid temp is around 180 - to 200f. I'm thinkin i've got the wrong gauge. Any suggestions / comments appreciated.
Thanks

Gryph, you have the right gauge (sort of), the ONLY way it's going to do you any good is if the trans. temp. sender is installed in the "hot" trans. cooler line (i. e. , higher temps. at that location than in the trans. pan). Bill Kondolay of DTT (Diesel Transmission Technology) installed a '95 "hot" trans. cooler line on my Ram when I had my transmission upgraded in January. This trick line has an integral temp. sender port. All that is required is a 3/8 NPT to 1/8 NPT reducer fitting to allow installation of the trans. temp. sender.

I too had the same trans. temp gauge you have before I upgraded to the SPA digital gauges.

I have the Autmoeter Version. I have stock 01 4x4 and on the highway my trannie runs about 140degrees, sometimes a little less, in traffic, 180 at the most. The range you got will cover the danger zones, but if you want to know the temp all the time, i would look see if they have one with a wider range

I have the same gauge with the sender in the transmission line works perfect most noticable readings while backing the 5ver #ad

Thanks for the replies. I am purchasing the transmission line with the sender well in it as per Bill K. I do pull a 5th wheel so will probably see higher temps then.
